Veteran Business Outreach Center
Our VBOC support is available to transitioning service members, veterans, National Guard & Reserve members, and military spouses interested in starting or growing a small business. VBOCs offer workshops, training, counseling, and mentorship opportunities in your area.
VBOCs can also help you navigate SBA’s extensive resource partner network and refer you to a community partner, lender, or SBA program.

The Veterans Business Outreach Centers (VBOC) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) have a wide variety of resources to help both active duty and former service veterans get started in business or grow an existing business.
VBOC will help make your business a success! We have unique resources for women, service-disabled, and government contracting veterans.

WESST – Women’s Business Center

WESST’s mission is to be a home to New Mexicans starting or growing a small business. We provide a support system of consulting, training, incubation and lending to help women, people of color and low-wealth individuals successfully strengthen and grow their businesses through sustainable sales, financial knowledge, and job creation.
New Mexico Apex Accelerator

The APEX is a government-funded program providing assistance to small businesses who want to sell their goods or services to the government, educational institutions, or tribal entities. Our staff of advisors are experienced in government contracting and provide a wide range of services, including individual counseling and training to enable businesses to successfully compete for government contracts.
Small Business Development Centers

SBDCs provide a variety of free business consulting and low-cost training services to small businesses and aspiring civilian and military entrepreneurs throughout the United States, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
U.S. Small Business Administration

Sincer 1953, the SBA has helped veterans start, manage, and grow small businesses. Today, SBA offers a full range of entrepreneurial support programs to every American and specific programs for veterans, service-disabled veterans, reservists and National Guard members.

SCORE is a nationwide network of experienced business owners and managers who provide free business mentoring and low-cost training services. A variety of trainings and services are available online and at local chapters.

The National Center for Veteran Institute for Procurement

VIP offers five no-cost training tracks to increase your ability to win government contracts. Developed by seasoned executives from industry and government, these trainings are designed to support both veteran-owned small businesses and service disabled veteran-owned small businesses.
Services
The services of the Veterans Business Outreach Center are provided to veterans from all branches of the military — the Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Servicemen and women can begin their work with us before they transition from active duty. In addition, these services and veterans resources are available for the National Guard and the Air National Guard. Spouses are also supported through our VBOC program.
